We’re partnering with Special Olympics for another season of young athletes! Join us this fall to learn the fundamentals of riding a bike. Students who joined us last year for the strider bike class showed great progress in their skills!
What it is: Special Olympics “Young Athletes” is an innovative program designed to introduce children ages 2 to 7 with intellectual disabilities to the world of sport and play. The Young Athletes – Strider program incorporates the principles of the traditional program with a twist… the use of Strider Bikes!
Strider Bikes have no pedals. The bikes and helmets are provided (but if you have your own please bring to class). Previous bike riding experience is not required.
Fee: No cost
Other: An adult is required to chaperone and participate. A Unified Partner (child without an intellectual disability) of similar age to the Young Athlete is welcome, but not required.
Please register on the Special Olympics website here.
Deadline to register is Sept. 27th at noon.
Note: There is no penalty for missing classes. We hope to see you as often as your schedule allows!
